Species:Chinese Water Dragon – (Physignathus Cocincinus)
Likes: Having a swim in the bath.
Chinese Water Dragons can grow up to 1metre in length including their long tail
which can be used as a weapon, for balance and to assist with swimming.
It has a ‘third eye’ which is a photosensitive spot on the top of its head. This
helps the lizard to detect change in light so it knows when to shelter at night
and where to bask in the best sunlight. It also helps them avoid overhead predators
by detecting sudden shadows.
Water Dragons are great climbers and swimmers. Puff is often found high up on his
vines, ropes and branches but also loves to bathe in his pool.
As the name suggests they are found in China but also Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia
They are mainly insectivores but will occasionally eat small fish and mammals. Puff
loves Dubia Roaches.
